edit

Some corrections to dates etc. which I will incorporate into the article as soon as I have a little more time:

  • ownership and operation of 2ZY was transferred to the British Broadcasting Corporation when that organization took over from the British Broadcasting Company on 1 January 1927;
  • the National Programme did not begin broadcasting (at least, not under that name) until 9 March 1930. From that date the name "2ZY" was dropped from announcements – as were all other BBC call signs – but the Manchester station continued on air (as "the Manchester programme") until 16 May 1931;
  • the North Regional Programme (broadcast from a new high-power transmitter at Moorside Edge) took over from the Manchester programme on 17 May 1931 (and continued until 1 September 1939, when – with war approaching – the National and Regional Programmes were merged into the Home Service). -- Picapica (talk) 01:55, 16 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Amendments/additions now made ...it only took me nearly three and a half years to find that "little more time"! -- Picapica (talk) 12:01, 21 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on 2ZY. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
