Infobox

Everything in the infobox needs to be in the body of the article and cited. That includes the battles the regiment was involved in. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 01:22, 11 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the battles as I actually found the book was talking about the Division and not the signals regiment.. J-Man11 (talk) 14:47, 12 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
The unit badge needs to be described in the body and cited to a reliable source. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 01:18, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Title

edit

G'day Buckshot06, should this be at 2 Signal Regiment (United Kingdom) if that is how they are being numbered now? Thoughts? Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 01:18, 13 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Like the confusion over USAF wings ("2nd" versus "2d") the official military websites are a bit inconsistent, but yes, the overwhelming standard by official sources - and thus WP:COMMONNAME - seems to be "2" rather than "2nd". And yes it's just "Signal Regiment"; it's got no specialist title at present. So yes, "2 Signal Regiment (United Kingdom)" with the UK disambiguator because the Canadians, Australians, even us, South Africans etc will all potentially use the same format. Sounds fair. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 06:44, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

unsourced part

edit

It traces its lineage back to 2nd Company, The Telegraph Battalion, part of the Royal Engineers. For most of its existence the regiment supported the 2nd Infantry Division and was known as 2nd Signal Regiment, although for a time it was combined with 2nd Infantry Division headquarters as the 2nd Division Headquarters and Signal Regiment.

This should be in the lead section in any case.

Name change

edit

I'm hereby requesting this page be transferred to the title of 2nd Signal Regiment (United Kingdom) to keep it consistent with the other signal regiment pages made and coming. Leaving a redirect would be the best option. But all the page names should be consistent. Tagging @Dormskirk and @SmartyPants22. J-Man11 (talk) 01:52, 9 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

OK with me. Dormskirk (talk) 09:45, 9 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
