penetration info

edit

I messed a bit around after misreading a table, but corrected it in the meantime. Penetration is for 90° plate: 124 mm @ 0 m 105 mm @ 250 m 87 mm @ 500 m 70 mm @ 750 m 60 mm @ 1000 m Penetration is for 60° plate (sloped back by a modest 30°): 95 mm @ 0 m 83 mm @ 250 m 72 mm @ 500 m 62 mm @ 750 m 53 mm @ 1000 m Source: Small Arms, Artillery and Special Weapons of the Third Reich. An encyclopedic survey" by T.Gander and P. Chamberlain (Jane's Publishers Ltd). I used the German translation of the book from 2005 (ISBN 3-613-02481-2 Parameter error in {{ISBN}}: checksum).

Another source has slightly different info. Penetration for 90° plate: 120 mm @ 100 m 87 mm @ 500 m 60 mm @ 1000m Penetration for 60° plate: 90 mm @ 100 m 72 mm @ 500 m 53 mm @ 1000 m This second source is "German Artillery of World War Two" by Ian V. Hogg, corrected 1997 reprint.

I corrected earlier today the wrong info that penetration was 72 mm at 455 m, supposedly against 90° plate. Now I wrote Armour penetration: 87 mm (3.425 in) at 500 m (550 yards), which is supported by both sources.

Maybe someone who knows the formatting stuff should add a table to the article. 00:09, 16 February 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lastdingo (talkcontribs)
