Mineola or Graden City

edit

Apparently Gorrell (source not available to me) says the unit moved to the Aviation Concentration Center at Garden City. All AFHRA sources say the move was to Mineola (probably Hazelhurst Field). Order of Battle of the Land Forces in WW I agrees. If Gorell does say this (some doubt in my mind as to what the citation includes) a discussion of the discrepancy is needed. --Lineagegeek (talk) 22:16, 23 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The narrative (citing Maurer (1987) has the squadron assigned to the 11th School Group at Kelly Field 1927-1931. The 11th School Group (and the Primary Flying School) was not located at Kelly, but at Brooks Field. This also calls into question whether the squadron flew primary trainiers during this period. AFHRA sources (including Maurer's other cited work) do not list any aircraft as assigned to the squadron during this period and show it assigned to the 10th School Group. --Lineagegeek (talk) 23:16, 23 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
