Query
editJust a query, the image begs the question. If this group trained pilots on the P-38 and P-51, why did they have a Spitfire (per the pic)? Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 06:43, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Peacemaker67: - I can't find a clue online, but the American Air Museum caption says it was later transferred to the 332nd Service Squadron, though the year dates are very off. Perhaps a station hack if the USAAF had those aircraft? Kges1901 (talk) 11:13, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Station numbers
editAlthough Kelley inserts an "F" before station numbers, I don't know where he gets it from. Anderson is the cited source and does not include this letter. The "UK series" (it included Orly and a couple of Continental airfields used numbers only, although AAF is sometimes added before the station number. --Lineagegeek (talk) 14:32, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
