Copied from source
editLarge parts of this article are copied from the first reference. The webiste it's taken from says "Information presented on this Web site is considered public information and may be distributed or copied. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested." Does that count as releasing the material into the public domain, or do they need to be more explicit than that? Also, Wikipedia:Public domain says "Proper attribution to the author or source of a work, even if it is in the public domain, is still required". I'm not entirely clear on how to do that, but presumably putting the source in the References section isn't enough since that doesn't indicate that it's been directly copied?
Apologies if my questions turn out to be based on a lack of understanding of policy (I'm not very familiar with copyright policy), but I was thinking of nominating this article for Did You Know so I thought I'd better check everything is in order first! Olaf Davis | Talk 23:05, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
