The 717th Air Base Squadron, "The Pulse of Ankara," is a geographically-separated unit of the 39th Air Base Wing, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.

Mission

The 717th ABS operates the Ankara Support Facility providing world-class support to the entire American Community in the Ankara area including the diverse military community and the U.S. Embassy.

The Ankara Support Facility is much like any other Air Base, just on a smaller scale. The facility has a BX, Commissary, DoDDS school, fitness center, community center, multiple picnic areas, library, laundromat, chapel and a barber shop. In short the squadron provides all the same support functions a full wing does, with the exception of flying operations.
