The emblem in the infobox seems to appear nowhere outside Wikipedia, except for militaria sales sites. Maurer indicates no approved emblem for the squadron in its entry Combat Squadrons of the United States Air Force in World War II. Even unapproved emblems that were used by World War II units should appear in Watkins, Insignia and Aircraft Markings of the U.S. Army Air Force In World War II, but the entry for the 492d Group does not show emblems for any of the group's squadrons, except for the 859th Bombardment Squadron, which used an emblem later approved for the 788th Bombardment Squadron. It is tagged for citation needed, but if there is nothing approaching a WP:RS for use of this emblem, it may be removed. --Lineagegeek (talk) 15:40, 10 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
