The 657th Bombardment Squadron was consolidated with the 857th Bombardment Squadron and does not have sufficient notability on its own to merit a separate page.
WP:MILMOS#UNITNAME indicates that when a unit or base has had multiple names over the course of its existence, the title should generally be the last name used; however, exceptions can be made in cases where the subject is clearly more commonly known by one of the previous names. In this case the unit has never been active under its most recent name, the 557th Tactical Air Support Squadron, and the 857th designation is the one that should be used. --Lineagegeek (talk) 20:02, 2 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
