Merge from Simon's Sircus

Simon's Sircus is not notable. This book is only a passing mention, as is this, and this. This and this are only in image captions. This article about the squadron (the parent of the air performers) is notable only because of WP:MILUNIT. It makes more sense to merge content about the "Sircus" into this article. Object to merge/deletion. The problem here is one of recentism. Wikipedia:Recentism Stuff that is in last week's newspapers and magazines is on the internet, stuff in 1960s generally is not. Further biassing Wikipedia to the recent past is most unhelpful. @Toddy1: 892 Squadron has been inactive for decades, so there's no way recentism is driving my comments. (The squadron and the aerobatic team were deactivated at the same time.) Further, neither the squadron nor the "Sircus" are American but I'm only making the case for merging the content of one into the content of the other. If it were up to me, I'd send both articles to deletion; that's not my argument. I recommend you take a long look at WP:N and get ready for an AfD. There is a reasonably extensive article (7 pages of text) on Simon's Sircus in this month's issue of Aeroplane magazine, which would probably go a good way as to meeting GNG for the team, and there is likely to be similar coverage of the team elsewhere in the enthusiast press.Nigel Ish (talk) 11:01, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
