Why is the link to 8chan / 8kun not included?

The current consensus of the Wikipedia community, as summed up by Compassionate727 in March 2021, is:

There is a consensus to exclude the 8chan website from the external links section. Most editors agree that our moral obligation to not facilitate access to a website notable for containing child pornography overrides any benefit to the project derived from giv[ing] the reader the opportunity to see what the subject says about itself (WP:ELOFFICIAL).

Consensus can change, but not without another similar community discussion as happened when that consensus was formed. Please do not boldly re-add the link without starting another talk page discussion which directly addresses the closing statement and arguments brought up in the first discussion.

The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated as a contentious topic.

Editors who repeatedly or seriously fail to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behaviour, or any normal editorial process may be blocked or restricted by an administrator. Can the Infobox use the URL itself?

I fully understand and accept the consensus that there should be no link in the Infobox. But is it OK to add the URL as plain text, without it being an actual link? —theMainLogan (t•c) 07:48, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
