TELAR
editAnyone knows why the caption on the picture says it's a photo of a SA-13 TELAR? SA-13 are infrared guided missiles, so there should be no radar on board.
- As stated in the article, there is a small ranging radar. I think it is between the box launchers; there is something that looks like a dish there in the photo. I'm not 100% sure of its use but it may just be to make sure the target is in range before launching the missile(s). It's possible I made a mistake, but I don't think so. I put the reference links at the bottom, you can check them if you like. 220.233.81.49 11:49, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Atomic
editOne particular use of SA-10 was during Cold War to defend truck convoys ferrying tactical nuke warheads between depots and bases located in the soviet-occupied eastern european vassal countries. Usually 1 x SA-10 missileer tank + 1 x Shilka or Tunguska autocannon tankette were provided per convoy whenever readyness level was any higher than basic. Russians did not really believe in the american method of civilian-disguised clandestine truck transport. Longer range or cross-border nuke transport were usually done by Mi-8 helos or Antonov cargo planes. 87.97.99.196 (talk) 15:47, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Strela-10 in Czech army
editAccording to https://www.idnes.cz/technet/vojenstvi/pomoc-ukrajina-tanky-cesko-presun.A220405_132907_vojenstvi_alv (in Czech) Czech army put them out of service (and replaced them with Swedish RBS 70NG), so these (or at least part of them, the article doesn’t provide their number) were sent to Ukraine.
