Why there needs to be an article regarding this event
editIt does not matter if there is a small part of this event mentioned in the 2022 Sri Lankan protest article, as it is a significant event which forced Gota and Ranil out. It will go flies in history of Sri Lanka as the highest protest. It included events that were quite imaginable in Sri Lanka. It is the cause of Gota and Ranils resignation.
The argument to delete this article is invalid as it can be used in the argument to delete the 6 January Capitol attack. They both have some similarity expect one was to solve a corrupt democracy and government Theeveralst (talk) 20:21, 9 July 2022 (UTC)

- How
"It is the cause of Gota and Ranils resignation"
when resignation hasn't even happened yet? 2021 United States Capitol attack is not comparable with this incident in any way. Wikipedia is not for your WP:ACTIVISM. Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 20:23, 9 July 2022 (UTC)- Agree with Aman.kumar.goel. This "9 July events" is just another day in 2022 Sri Lankan protests. So, there seems to be no need of seperate article.
- @Theeveralst:, please understand Wikipedia's notability guideline for events. Thanks. 🔮Plpm2021💬 20:42, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
It is agreed that the article should be revived after Gota and Ranil officially resign Theeveralst (talk) 20:58, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- It will depend on the circumstances then. Though I believe that 2022 Sri Lankan protests and the articles on Gotabaya and Mahinda would be enough to cover the resignation. Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 21:03, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
Do you guys believe that there should be an article regarding 9-13 July protests Theeveralst (talk) 22:02, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- Not anymore. See 2022 Sri Lankan protests#9 July: Storming of President's House for complete details about the incident. Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 02:29, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
