Permission to use aaubreybodine.com
editI have been granted permission by Jennifer Bodine to use the biography from www.aaubreybodine.com for my wikipedia article. I just sent an email to the OTRS system, with my request and her confirmation.

- And, in this series of edits, I have deleted this material.
- Wikipedia does not recycle slabs of what a daughter writes about her father, whether in accurate or garbled form, even if doing so would raise no copyright concerns. If this material is worth summarizing, then summarize it, clearly identifying its source.
- As for the charge of garbling, consider the chunk that I deleted in this edit: Bodine entered and won foreign exhibitions in Australia, Vienna, Yugoslavia, [...] Sweden, and Yugoslavia. If you go to the relevant page within aaubreybodine.com, you'll see where this came from and you'll also see that the source makes sense and says something rather different. -- Hoary (talk) 05:54, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
PS we read above that J Bodine gave permission for her material to be reproduced within WP (and thereby released under GFDL). If this is so -- and after more than one year, there's no confirmation of it here from OTRS -- then my edit summary comments using the verb "plagiarize" are overheated. Still, I'm not going to reinstate the material: an account of Bodine's achievements should not normally be sourced to what's written by his own daughter. -- Hoary (talk) 06:52, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
