If anyone can verify this, then the following would be a good addition to the page: I believe the constituent button cells that make up an A23 are LR936 batteries. I think that the 'Unconventional Uses' section is written like an advertisement and should be edited for better reading.DeepThought91 (talk) 04:35, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- True, removed as its unnecessary. Ilikepie2221 (talk) 17:43, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
LR932?
editI never heard of LR932. Shouldn't it rather be LR392? --MrBurns (talk) 14:37, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Unlikely. LR932 is 9mm wide and 3.2mm high while LR392 is 3mm wide and 9.2mm high. See button cells for what the numbers mean. Jamesday (talk) 20:26, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Use of a / an in English sentences
edit"Smaller even than an AAA" doesn't read well, since "AAA" is pronounced "triple A" not "A-A-A". Perhaps using a definite article would allow the reader to read this either way:
"Smaller even than the AAA size" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.138.24.104 (talk) 20:52, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Where is R23 defined?
editI see lots of ads for 8LR23 batteries but the copy of IEC 60086.1-2011 that I can read doesn't list an R23 cell size. Was this dropped from the standard? --Wtshymanski (talk) 14:10, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- It's not, there’s a gap there. So I dunno how the definition came about. Maybe A23 - LR23 ... I dunno.--Lead holder (talk) 18:59, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Still can't find it in IEC 60086 or the new edition of the Linden battery handbook. --Wtshymanski (talk) 18:11, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
History of the A23 name?
editIf anyone knows where the name originally came from, it would be nice to put it on a page. Was it one out of a line of designs (A1, A2 ... Ax) that got chosen and "survived"? Or does it refer to some parameter or ... ?
Is there a wikipedia page on naming history / conventions for all batteries?
Thanks! -RedKnight7 (talk) 14:45, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
- List of battery sizes talks about naming a bit, but it's not extensive. As to the A23 specifically, no idea. Rwessel (talk) 17:16, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
