Why must the trivia section be removed??? What is wrong with it???
Trivia section
editIf it is claimed that the M58 has a single carriageway section, as in the first item, then surely it has a roundabout (or two) in the middle, which means that the second fact is wrong. Fingerpuppet (talk) 09:52, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Self-contradictory
editThis article states in one place that part of the route has been downgraded to B class, but doesn't give details, e.g. a B class road number. Most of the article, however, suggests that both branches are still motorway class, and the latest OS maps would seem to confirm this. The article needs the attention of someone who knows what the true situation is. --188.29.66.196 (talk) 19:50, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- The true situation is in the linked sources. The change happened only recently so some maps may still be out-of-date. I've now updated the whole article to remove any apparent contradictions. -- Dr Greg talk 22:01, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your prompt and thorough response. This reads much better now. There's a pull-down routemap at the top right of the article, which still shows the old route designations. Is this using an external data source? --188.29.66.196 (talk) 07:59, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, I've no idea how to edit the routemap. -- Dr Greg talk 09:38, 6 August 2021 (UTC)

@Dr Greg: Someone changed the text to say the downgraded link road was now the B6601, even though neither of the cited references stated this. However this is, I believe, correct, so I have replaced these references with one from the Lancaster Guardian that does give the new number, as well as indicating the revocation order for the downgrading of the remaining portion of the motorway. Hope I've done all this correctly! --188.28.135.31 (talk) 10:10, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
