This is a fairly rare situation in the UK that a road is designated with part of the road including a ferry crossing. I have referenced the length at 47.6 miles, the reference actually states 48.3 miles but 0.7 miles of this is on water by boat, my interpretation is that as a road we are concerned with the length of driveable tarmac, not "virtual" sections on water.
