"shortened as Met"?
editThis is fine as an anecdote, but lends a casual, not-very-encyclopedic tone to the article as a whole. It would probably be better to just refer to them as Metzger in the article. Thoughts? Caleb Stanford (talk) 17:16, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- No response here, so I searched for a citation and can't find any definitive evidence, at least not that this is an official name change, and sources vary between the two, so I went ahead and made this change. If there's a quality source actually stating that their official name is Met we can change and cite that. Caleb Stanford (talk) 18:26, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
Ajr being Jewish.
editMy citation that AJR is Jewish got called an “irrelevant citation”. What should I really do to fix this I cannot just put a twitter/x thread about ajr for that. After all it was a limited IG story. I’m thinking that someone thought it was self citation. Goodboy5553 (talk) 23:00, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

The only other article using just AJR for its title is AJR (motorcycle), which consists of three sentences, one inline source, and two external links. I don't know jack about motorcycles so I won't be proposing deletion on that myself, but I'm not even sure it's notable. Meanwhile, this band has two top 10 albums, a third with a Platinum cert, and a top-ten single in the US. Should be an easy PTOPIC for the initialism itself, and all the other articles listed in AJR which don't use the initialism in their titles can be reached via a hatnote. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 14:40, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: The motorcycle is not the only other topic on the AJR disambiguation page. Primary topics for three-letter abbreviations are very uncommon. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:43, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- But it's the only one that uses it as the title of the article, as opposed to a longer title which could be abbreviated. That's what I was trying to say; did it not come across? QuietHere (talk | contributions) 19:25, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- Missed it on the first skimming, but it's there. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:43, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose lots of topics are known by this acronym, no evidence the band is the primary topic in terms of long-term significance. If it was the primary topic, I'd expect it to show up prominently in books and scholar searches, but it doesn't—others such as the Jewish organization, radiology journal, and acronym for a person's name are more prominent. - Support. AJR (band) has 3,886,887 pageviews. The top 3 searches for the term "AJR" on Wikipedia are AJR, AJR (band), and AJR discography. The move proposed by QuietHere can be helpful to differentiate between AJR (band) and AJJ (band). 123.203.140.216 (talk) 03:04, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support, further on pageviews in terms of relevancy, AJR (band) has had 179,500 pageviews within the last 90 days, and of the articles linked on AJR the highest is Iran Ajr with 5,591 pageviews within the last 90 days.Koopastar (talk) 05:32, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support. Obviously it should be the main page name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.177.24.74 (talk) 02:57, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support. I went looking for other AJR topics and was overwhelmed with band references, about 98 percent of Google search results. Binksternet (talk) 17:09, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. No primary topic. Plenty of abbreviations. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:59, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support. The band is the most likely primary topic; looking through the other abbreviations they are all mostly highly unlikely, uncommon use cases and have no outgoing hits at WikiNav. Happily888 (talk) 07:04, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support. They do appear to be the prime AJR on the wiki. Certainly no one will confuse them for the motorcycle. Voicebox64 (talk) 17:21, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
- Support. I agree with this page name change redirect from AJR (band) to AJR and have the correct AJR redirect to AJR (disambiguation) and if it's accepted it would have this on the AJR page:

Met vs. Metzger
editWould like to see some sources on this. My research shows that they were indeed born with the name Metzger, and began using the "Met" surname in the early 2020s. I'd say this is a stage name rather than a legal name change, unless there is evidence otherwise. I've just removed a hatnote which doesn't seem justified. 162 etc. (talk) 23:46, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
