There is a rumor of RSC-2s in Algeria on Steinbrenner page 295, but not confirmed on Inserra's list. --SSW9389 (talk) 09:14, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

See Preston Cook's excellent article "WHEN EMD, ALCO & BALDWIN MET IN MORROCCO" (pp22-35) in the March 2011 issue of Railroads Illustrated. Cook has photos of the Algerian RSC-2s in passenger service into Oujda, Morocco. --SSW9389 11:53, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Turbocharger Redesign

edit

Some delay to the beginning of RSC-2 production was experienced by Alco-GE. This was because the turbocharger manifold had to be redesigned for a lower mounting. The lower mounting was necessary to enable a 12V-244 engine to fit under the hood of the proposed new roadswitchers. This new turbocharger mounting was tested and complete by the Summer of 1946. See Steinbrenner p. 246. --SSW9389 14:52, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

Found another

edit

It took me a while to identify it, but I found an RSC-2 at Danbury Railway Museum (right here). It was an ex-Northern Central Railway train, as well as New Hope and Ivyland Railroad, Florida Power & Light and Seaboard Air Line Railroad train. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 04:25, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's between the Metro-North, and Pre-McGinnis New Haven ALCOs. I can't read the writing in front, though.

Section for Preserved Engines

As per the post titled “Found Another” and to be inline with other articles, a Preserved Locomotive section should be added. 166.181.89.118 (talk) 23:15, 7 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
