Query: Why does "HD3D" redirect only to "AMD HD3D" which is an AMD graphics API? "HD3D" is also apparently the name of the premier technique for searching for petroleum [1], developed by the company "Petroleum Geo-Services" [2][3], using some kind of seismic technology, though the details I've been able to find are murky.
I wonder if the details are purposely being kept quiet by PGS and affiliates to avoid arousing wrath of environmentalists if the details were known? These seismic ocean surveys are thought by some people to be harmful to marine life[4].
So I think someone should also write an article on the petroleum/seismic meaning of the acronym "HD3D", which, to the best of my knowledge, is totally unrelated to "AMD HD3D".
