On Narendra Modi
editI just deleted the name of Narendra Modi which was inserted by someone as a name in APCO's clients list. That name is NOT there in the cited source (which is this: [1]) and seems to have been falsely added by people having a political agenda to malign his image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Piyush soni (talk • contribs) 20:13, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
Narendra Modi can't be referred to as a CLIENT here, it was the state bought APCO's services. Deleting his name again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rituraj SIngh Rishi (talk • contribs) 07:21, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
New "Controversy Section
editI propose to add a short new section containing filmmaker's Michael Moore's assertions about this company's controversial comments in response to his 2007 film Sicko. Jack B108 (talk) 21:48, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry! I guess the section was already there. Jack B108 (talk) 21:57, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- We don't need these kind of sections. I believe their is a specific guideline against them as they tend to only serve the purpose of attacking the subject.Israelbenjamin (talk) 08:26, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Wrong. You can't remove large chunks of material just because you don't like them. Jack B108 (talk) 15:53, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- I might add that this is a very odd statement to make in an academic context, given by Israelbenjamin in their edit summary: "Also, primary sources are strongly discouraged." Say what?? Jack B108 (talk) 16:03, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Wikipedia in fact strongly discourages the use of primary sources.Monkeyassault (talk) 05:33, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Plagiarized material put back in
editBy overturning my edits here, users 67.43.136.47, 64.7.147.11, and 64.7.151.171 have all reinserted plagiarized material into this entry. This material is an unattributed direct quote from a mass email from Michael Moore of 11/19/2010: "The law firm Arnold & Porter is best known for its years of representing the giant tobacco conglomerate Philip Morris. APCO set up fake "grassroots" organizations around the country to do the bidding of Big Tobacco. All of a sudden, "normal, everyday, in-no-way-employed-by-Philip Morris Americans" were popping up everywhere. And it turned out they were outraged -- outraged! -- by exactly the things APCO's clients hated (such as, the government telling tobacco companies what to do). In particular, they were "furious" that regular people had the right to sue big corporations...you know, like Philip Morris." Until mischief like this stops, this entry should not allow edits from anonymous IP accounts. Jack B108 (talk) 17:04, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Edit request from Ruggrawk, 21 November 2010
edit{{edit semi-protected}} Please change "APCO is well-known for its success handling sensitive political issues" to "APCO is often hired to handle sensitive political issues" because the original phrasing is subjective, presumptuous, and lacking necessary support.
Ruggrawk (talk) 16:32, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- Partly done: Changed the verb tense. -Atmoz (talk) 18:24, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
One Israel and 1Malaysia
editThis section makes no sense to me. There seems to be a lot of missing context. Would someone familiar with it please expand it for people unfamiliar with either One Israel or 1Malaysia? Thanks. Kaldari (talk) 22:24, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I removed this section just now for several reasons. First, the purpose of adding the language on 1Malaysia and Israel is clearly to make APCO look bad. This is not in and of itself sufficient justification for a delete but POV pushing is a factor to consider. Second, this is not just POV pushing, it is an attempt to lend credence to a bizarre conspiracy theory (Stated in the text itself. I think you can admit it is pretty bizarre.) used to attack Prime Minister Najib in Malaysia. I think this section was originally added by Roman888 (a banned user) or one of his socks. I honestly can't quite recall the details. Even one sentence in the APCO article is undue weight. Third, if this material belongs in Wikipedia it should probably be in the article on 1Malaysia or on Anwar Ibrahim as the material actual is relevant to those topics. Let me know how you feel. Thanks. Monkeyassault (talk) 05:59, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- You can find a lot of background material here [2]. My own views on this have softened somewhat over the years and I would not mind moving this content to 1Malaysia.Monkeyassault (talk) 06:09, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Recent mass deletions
editI have reverted the massive deletions of sourced content by User:Monkeyassault, as I think they have been insuffiently explained. For example, it seems a strange interpretation of NPOV to discard the view of Malaysia's opposition leader as "fringe" in favor of the government's view. Regards, HaeB (talk) 05:47, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry. I just now noticed your note here after I had already posted above.Monkeyassault (talk) 06:00, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- I want to explain why I removed the final line of the text about TASCC. First, if you follow the link you will see that the source does not say this. The text I removed is merely the interpretation of the author. I think it is accurate interpretation but it is still nonetheless original research and is not allowed. Second, the line of text I removed is not even about APCO. It doesn't belong here.Monkeyassault (talk) 06:31, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Astroturfing
editAstroturfing is a pejorative term. The only possible reason for adding this to the article is to imply that APCO is engaging in wrongdoing through astroturfing without having to provide a source. This is the definition of POV pushing. I have removed this link and rightly so. Please do not add it back. Monkeyassault (talk) 06:52, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

New brand name for APCO
editHi folks - This is Bryce from APCO, here to suggest a name update for this page based on our recent rebrand. You will want to also update the APCO disambiguation article here on Wikipedia.
Articles covering the name change news include:

Note that for Wikipedia use, we prefer the logo that does not have the three words below "apco" in the logo.
You might take a moment at the same time to update our staff count which is now more than 1200.
In the awards section, you can note a few more recent awards, such as
