comparison to modern consumer level technology

edit

Perhaps a note about how a modern graphics card can do more then this supercomputer? As an example the nVidia GeForce GTX 690 can crank out 5.49TFLOPDonhoraldo (talk) 10:04, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I see your point. But a mention of modern flop counts, would be only part of the story. We would have to discuss the paltry memory capacity and bandwidth. Then the 1GB/s of I/O is eclipsed by current parallel file systems. Suddenly it felt like a different article. Smk-slab (talk) 13:33, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

One should also remember that the 5.5 TFLOP rating for the NVidia card is single precision. If you run the standard double precision test on it (Linpack), you'll find it scores far lower. 50.0.101.103 (talk) 15:18, 21 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just say Pentium II OverDrive

edit

"specially packaged Pentium II Xeon processors" Really? Why not simply put in the article what they were, the Pentium II OverDrive. Nothing "specially packaged" about it, they were made by intel to be used in place of any Pentium Pro CPU. Bizzybody (talk) 07:24, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
