The Schulz museum states the existence of a "Never aired 1963 documentary about Charles Schulz. Produced and directed by Lee Mendelson (30 minutes)".[1] However, the article states it did air on CBS. Curiouser and curiouser. Hiding talk 21:07, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I notice the Charles Schulz Museum says it's a 1963 film. IMDb aren't always the most reliable source, they may or may not be correct in this case. Not that it matters, based on the naming convention for non-episodic television the article name should be A Boy Named Charlie Brown (TV program) since this is a television documentary, not a TV movie.   • There are at least three separate productions here.
    • The animated TV show is "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and the IMDb listing shows its release date as 1965.
    • To be confusing, there are two productions titled, A Boy Named Charlie Brown.
      • The subject of the A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1963 film) article here is a TV documentary film and was originally named A Boy Named Charlie Brown (documentary). The Charles M. Schulz Museum lists it as a "1963 documentary"; the IMDb lists a TV film of this title as A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1965) (TV) but doesn't describe it as a documentary. It's anyone's guess that the Museum and the IMDb are referring to the same production (although the likelihood of a third production with the same title is low). In any event, assuming that it is the same production, I'd take the Museum's word for it over the IMDb's.
      • The other production is a 1969 animated feature film, the IMDb lists it as A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969)
    • Two other articles here are:
      • A Boy Named Charlie Brown (film) is currently a disambituation page
      • A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969 film) is the title of the article on the animated feature
    • In order to clarify the distinction between the article on the TV documentary vs. the article on the animated feature film, here's some options:

• Comment It must have taken you some time to list those options, but Wikipedia doesn't use disambiguation such as Title (TV), Title (TV documentary), Title (documentary), Title (feature film), etc. As I stated in my previous comment, the naming convention dictates that a 30 minute television documentary should be at A Boy Named Charlie Brown (TV program), so there's little else than can be said. After that article is moved I will propose A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969 film) be moved to A Boy Named Charlie Brown, because the feature film is the clear primary use over the TV documentary, and no disambiguation is needed if there are only two uses and one is the primary use.
