editThat second paragraph saying this song is "a reminiscence of Covington's formative years" is a bunch of hooey. First, Covington isn't one of the songwriters for this song. Second, Covington was born in 1977 and many of the things the songs sings about - lead paint, only 3 television channels, school prayer, etc. - were ancient history by the time Covington grew up. The reminiscences in the song are more appropriate for someone born in the 1940's or 1950's.
