The synopsis
editI'm trying to understand and comply with WP policy/guidelines/proposed guidelines on writing synopsis's/summaries/plot summaries. I'm using:
Wikipedia:How to write a plot summary
Wikipedia:Plot-only description of fictional works
Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction)
I'm finding it difficult, but the most compelling thing I've read so far says that if we give a complete blow-by-blow for all the episodes, we risk stepping on the copyright for the story. That, plus long synopsis's are really boring to read. If you really want to know what happened in the episode, it seems to me like watching the episode would be the way to do that. --Aladdin Sane (talk) 06:15, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- I got the summary down from 730 words to 562 words; still longer than the WP guideline of 300-500 words (for a full length movie). --Aladdin Sane (talk) 07:16, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
