Am just reading his first- class articles on neglected black writers (for catapult, in 2018). Gonzales is featured on WP pages, but has no entry himself.--Ralfdetlef (talk) 18:17, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's not uncommon, it's somewhat rare for a journalist to have an article about themselves. You need reliable sources to write about them and that almost never happens. They need to be important figures for that. That said, though, Michael A. Gonzales probably is notable. But you would need to show that (see WP:GNG and WP:NJOURNALIST). Personally, I think we also need an article about Jeff "Chairman" Mao, another "hip hop writer", host, book author, well known in the community (Michael actually listed him as a contemporary). But I'm facing the exact same issue. Plus searching sources about journalists is annoying as you keep finding articles by them, as opposed to articles about them.
