editThanks, Ser, but William Gaddis is the author of The Recognitions, so please no "and". At the time ASB was written, it was Gaddis's only novel. At the time of the cited LeClair interview (1978), all of McElroy's novels had come out by the time of Gaddis's second novel. Well, Plus came out the year after J R, but the writing was well-advanced by then, and Plus certainly wasn't influenced by J R. Choor monster (talk) 16:58, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
