Is that really the proper way to say someone speaks a language - they "claim" to speak the language. Seems off to me, I am going to look around for this.
This is what it says about Melania Trump, for example:
"Trump has said that she can speak English, Italian, French, and German in addition to her native Slovene, but she has only been heard speaking English and Slovene fluently.
