Abby Martin

edit

The usage of Abby Martin (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is under discussion, see Draft talk:Abby Martin -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 15:13, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't see discussion there. What's the issue? Do you think Abby Martin should not be a redirect?Anythingyouwant (talk) 15:42, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: not moved; common name determines what the title for an article is, not what the destination for a redirect is. Currently Abigail Martin is a primary redirect, as primary over the person MOS:DABMENTIONed on the Jerry L. Martin page. -- JHunterJ (talk) 18:03, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Abby Martin (disambiguation)Abigail Martin – Instead of redirecting to the TV presenter Abby Martin whose WP:COMMONNAME is not "Abigail Martin", the name could be the main title header of this disambiguation page, thus obviating the need for the qualifier "(disambiguation)". — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 22:02, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Nevertheless, the primary justification for "Abigail Martin" redirecting to TV presenter Abby Martin would be in the absence of the Abby Martin (disambiguation) page. However, since the dab page does exist and "Abigail" is not the TV presenter's professional name nor is she known to the public as "Abigail Martin", we could enable the elimination of the qualifier "(disambiguation)" and have "Abigail Martin" serve more intuitively as the main title header for the dab page which does contain one redirect for an Abigail Martin, while the hatnote atop Abby Martin can be revised so that, instead of redirecting, it would point directly to the renamed Abigail Martin dab page. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 00:48, 30 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
