editThis is not a picture of Abdulla bin Khalifah. Please update. There are many pictures of Abdulla bin Khalifa Al-Thani on the web. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walansari (talk • contribs) 18:55, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

His son Hamad
editHi, MP079, let's sort it out on the talk page instead. You say "it is definitely a completely different person" but how do you know that? I asked the same question in my edit summary and you just repeated that it is not him. As I see it, there can be two possibilities:
1) You think the name "Hamid Bin Abdul Sani al-Thani" used in some of the sources is distinct from the name "Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani", which would be the name of Hamad, son of Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani mentioned in this article.
2) You accept that the name "Hamid Bin Abdul Sani al-Thani" is in fact a "misspelled"/"alternatively transcribed" form of the (English transcription of the) name Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani but this Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani mentioned in the sources is not the son of (this) Abdullah bin Khalifa; it is a different Al Thani, son of a different Abdullah. Or is there another possibility?
Ad 1): The source I used says in the caption "Le prince du Qatar Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani". The text also uses the Czech (erroneous) transcription "Hamid Bin Abdul Sani al-Thani", as do many other sources, including those you mentioned in your edit summary. English transcription of the name is Hamed, the Czech transcription is Hamid or Hamíd, or Hámid. "Sani" is a transcription of "Thani". Abdul is not an Arabic name by itself; the correct form is Abdullah. Or do you think there are members of the House of Al-Thani whose name really includes the characters "Sani al-Thani" and "bin Abdul"? Later sources also use the corrct Czech trasncription "Hamid bin Abdullah al-Sani" 1, or "Hámid bin Abdullah al-Sání" 2 3, 4, 5. So I think the name Hamid Bin Abdul Sani al-Thani = Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani. Do you?
Ad 2): The best photo I found is here. In 2008, when the article was written, Abdullah bin Khalifa was 50, so one would expect the man on the photo to be a generation youger, i.e. ca 30. He looks older. Do you think this is the son of Abdullah bin Khalifa? 1 Can you find a source for that? Born ca. 1981 (article says he is 40). WikiHannibal (talk) 18:17, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
