Bitter Fruit link
editIn this sentence "Meeropol wrote the anti-lynching poem "Strange Fruit" (1936), which was first published as "Bitter Fruit" in a Teachers Union publication." there is a WP-link for the title "Bitter Fruit", which goes to a WP page about a novel that does not mention Abel Meeropol or Lewis Allan at all. (description of novel: "Bitter Fruit is a novel by Achmat Dangor first published in 2001 by Kwela Books of Cape Town.") Seems like a mistake, perhaps a page that has been removed and then another has been written with the same name. Anyhow, this link should be removed, and boldly I thus do so. citation for teaching Countee Cullen?
editCountee Cullen was born in 1903, the same year as Meeropol. Isn't it more likely that they attended the school at the same time, rather than Meeropol having taught Cullen? 73.225.52.127 (talk) 01:03, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Introduction of the song to Holiday
editI saw a film interview (on PBS, probably in the late 1980s) of Meeropol where he talked about playing the song for Holiday, and she said something to the effect of well what do you want me to do with that, and he said I'd very much like for you to sing it, and she said all right, I'll sings it. It would be great to dig this up if anyone has it and record it here. 2003:CD:EF34:EAC6:2079:FFD1:E597:C723 (talk) 21:29, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
