Absentee landlords in the ancient world
I read that in the Roman and Persian empires, the absentee landlords owned so much country lands that it impacted food production and helped weaken their economies. It may have been in the Time-Life history books and it was 20+ years that I read this. If anyone knows, drop a line. Septagram (talk) 03:46, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
