Unwarrented editing

Last night I edited this page to improve the knowledge contained within, all of which was correct and all of it could be found either in TS1 or TS3 of the current rule book. Why have my contributions been eradicated? 86.143.249.105 (talk) 12:05, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Sections and station limits

Bell codes

The bell codes listed are significantly wrong compared to their usuage today, however, nothing suggests this page is exlusively a current defination of Absolute Block. Bell codes updated to modern usage, but is (currently) not exhaustive for supplementary codes, although classification of trains should be complete.--92.4.29.237 (talk) 09:03, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

I have edited the example given of a train being signalled from Signalbox A to Signalbox B. When A sends 'train entering section' he does not need to send 'call attention' first. 'Train entering section' is one of about 8 bell codes where 'call attention' does not need to be sent and acknowledged first before sending a bell code. 86.143.249.105 (talk) 16:43, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Portsmouth Harbour

As mentioned here, during the (ever-lengthening) time of the Portsmouth resignalling work, the temporarily reopened Portsmouth Harbour box is working Absolute Block to Fratton. 86.132.141.168 02:16, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Structure of page

I wonder if the layout of the page needs to be beefed up to enable a lay person to understand the purpose and functioning of the absolute block system?

Train running away

The following block bell signals have been left out:

• (Emergency) Train running away on right line.
  • Say, Train may have passed starting signal at red down the down line.
• (Emergency) Train running away on wrong line.
  • Say, Train broken in two and rear half rolling back down the up line.

What is "Absolute"?

Neither this article nor Signalling block system makes clear what it is that is absolute in this form of block signalling. If there is to be a sensible dividing line and minimal overlap between the two articles, it would be helpful to make this clear. --TedColes (talk) 08:50, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
