What is the right name for this school?
editPerhaps the article should be renamed to "Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas" which as far as I can tell is its current name. [1] It is also apparently part of UNAM. — LinguistAtLarge • Talk 16:19, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas refers to the school which is part of UNAM. Most of that school is based in Xochimilco. The San Carlos building passed into UNAM's hands when the school was reconstructed in the early 20th century, but and the Academy was absorbed into UNAM with the new name. Only some grad classes are giving at the San Carlos building and the building is still known by this name. If you like, you could change the title to Acadamy of San Carlos building, but in the article I only wish to refer to that building and the institution that had a large role in the cultural development of Mexico that is in the historic center of Mexico City.... not the modern Art School. My boyfriend is a grad of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas and did not really know the link between San Carlos and the modern school. They are not considered one-and-the-same here.]Thelmadatter (talk) 22:52, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
