Differrence between catalyst and accelerant?
editThere should be somekind of comparing... I don't understand any difference. Catalyst is not consumed by the reaction itself, but accelerant is? Then this is worng: "Accelerants are catalysts which..." 195.163.176.146 (talk) 07:30, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Opening lines
editI feel that the opening sentence "Accelerants play a major role in chemistry." is not specific enough. We could replace the word "accelerants" with "oxidizers", "reductants", "Lewis acids", "catalysts", "organolithium reagents", "iron ions", etc. and the sentence would be just as valid, so I think it's too general. I don't know accelerants well enough to edit this article, but I feel that it would be more helpful to write, "In chemistry, an accelerant is ________". Nsteinberg (talk) 17:58, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
