Title
editThere is no Colon in this title. Its Ace Combat Assault Horizon —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiki yann (talk • contribs) 13:09, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure the colon is there so you know the name is seperated into two parts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.154.56.119 (talk) 14:08, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Release Date
editIs the February 1, 2011 release date accurate? I haven't seen any publicity giving any release date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.83.161.171 (talk) 02:34, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
All sites are giving "TBA 2011" or "December 31, 2011" for release date. Where is this February 1 coming from? Audioxbliss (talk) 02:41, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
I know for a while the official site listed that date as the official release date but then they took it down. The official european youtube account says their is no official relase date at this time and the us one has yet to have any mention either. On the official facebook page a member said they got a message from gamestop saying that the game was pushed back until june but I have yet to find confermation of this. I for one believe we should put TBA until a soruce gives an offical release date that is trustworthy.Regards.--Marchbaby 18:48, 29 December 2010 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marchbaby321 (talk • contribs)
I would think that if the actual release date was going to be February 1st, they would have said something by now, I vote to change it to "TBA 2011" Danny47906 (talk) 23:38, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Although someone changed it back to February 1st there is no way it is correct or they would have added it to the site. I am going to change it back to TBA 2011 until a reliable source gives a release date or the official site gives a release date.--Marchbaby 15:20, 25 January 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marchbaby321 (talk • contribs)
Again someone adds a date with no source. I will change it back again.--Marchbaby 03:54, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Just letting everyone know I removed the Gamestop release date since Gamestop is not a reliable source. Please wait for a reliable source or an official announcement before adding a release date. Thank you.--Marchbaby 05:28, 21 February 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marchbaby321 (talk • contribs)
The February 1st release date was publicized by the Game Informer magazine, but apparently they were wrong, and no statement was made to that effect. Gamestop has a release date of June 1st, while Amazon has a release date of December 31st. All this "fragmentation" combined with the fact that there has been no official comment on the release date other than 2011, means that anyone could be wrong. Wait for an official statement before changing the release date again. Xomm 01:02, 3 March 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xomm (talk • contribs)
I compromised on the release date because I agree that it is not 100% definite but it's nice for people to have a general idea of when its coming out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beagle bond (talk • contribs) 22:51, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
Just to let you know that in order to post any date it must be a reliable source and as such the Gamestop date cannot be placed since it is not reliable. The Ace Combat Wiki allows it but on Wikipedia only confirmed release dates are allowed.--Marchbaby(jerk) 14:58, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
gamestop Release Date 6/1/2011 if this turns out to be true I believe all non dec 31st and jan 1st dates by gamestop should be considered as legitimate in that the r.d. will fall within 3 weeks of that.
- Gamestop is still not a reliable source for release dates. A year and a half ago, their release date for Starcraft II was 12/31/2009. This was obviously wrong. Immediately after, they changed it to 6/1/2010. Again, this was wrong. Gamestop is just guessing, and not very well. June 1st is on a Wednesday this year, and games aren't commonly released on Wednesdays. Almost all games in the US are released on Tuesdays, and almost all games elsewhere are released on Fridays. Nobody should be bringing up release dates until there is an OFFICIAL statement. Preferably from Namco. Audioxbliss (talk) 11:52, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Source for newly added date
editSomeone added a new release date but the link is to an older article which does not give a release date and being blokced in my school I am unable to see if any reliable site gives October 1st 2011 as a date. I wanted to ask if anyone has a reliable source for the date and if not I will remove it.--Marchbaby 13:54, 26 April 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marchbaby321 (talk • contribs)
- There are no blog posts, game information, or interviews ever stating the specific date of October 1, 2011. However, I searched on Google Products for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon and the pre-order dates that the online vendors are giving. Six online stores came up. TFE Games states December 31, 2011. AlternativeDVD.com says June 1, 2011. Buy.com says October 25, 2011. But Walmart, Gamestop, and Videogamecentral.com all say October 1, 2011. If any sources had to prove an October 1st release date, it would be those three. However, three other vendors all have different dates. I would say it's still TBA. SlyCooperFan1 (talk) 04:02, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I checked the official site and it to gives no release date and the other sites are all over the place as you mentioned so I will change it back to TBA 2011 until someone finds a reliable source to confirm the date.--Marchbaby 14:45, 28 April 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marchbaby321 (talk • contribs)
- It's best to wait until there's an official press release or announcement from Namco themselves. Even if it comes from what's usually a reliable source, they fall victim to rumors and hearsay on occasion as well. Namco should definitely make an official announcement, quoted or otherwise, when they're ready to.Audioxbliss (talk) 06:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Magic is (probably) not a character name
editMAGIC is typically used as a callsign for AWACS so it's probably not a (nick)name for any specific character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.12.247.43 (talk) 18:11, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
This game is not written by Stephen King
editThis game is written by Jim Defelice, not Steven King. Source: http://acecombat.namcobandaigames.com/game
A games journalist named Steve King wrote some pieces on this game, but it's not the well-known author. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.2.183.79 (talk) 21:23, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Sales numbers
editWhere did they come from? If it's vgchartz, it's unreliable. Please provide citation. Whitereflection (talk) 19:53, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
- They must have been from VGChartz. I've corrected it and found a separate source giving the sales at 1+ million since May, which sounds about right since there was a DLC sale for them reaching 1 million sales around the same time. SlyCooperFan1 (talk) 15:33, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Plot Description is too long and contains typos
editThe plot description could be reduced to one or two paragraphs. Why does it have describe so much?
