Re-stubbed
editNot sure why this article was re-'stubbed'... I messaged the editor that re-applied stub label and got no response so, removing stub label again. If anyone has info they would like worked into the article just message me. Jonathan888 22:30, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- After researching further, externally, am I correct in reaching the conclusion that the use of "Actinic" was meant to convey - "Sensitivity to a specific wavelength (or zone) within the visible light spectrum"?
If so, maybe a similar statement should be added to this article for ease of understanding. 60.240.181.62 (talk) 22:31, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Aquarium?
editWhat exactly is an actinic light for aquariums? Is that the only definition, that it 'gives off a bluish tint'? Or does it have UV light too? Is it called actinic because it tries to cause photochemical reactions (i.e. growth) in coral? --24.46.164.83 03:10, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Merger proposal
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was to merge Actinic Light into Actinism Klbrain (talk) 20:13, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
I propose that Actinic light be merged into this page. I think that a section on this page would be best for explaining actinic light, as opposed to having a separate article. Also, these two articles are clearly related, but neither links to the other leading to an unnecessary bifurcation in coverage of this topic. SarrCat ∑;3 00:57, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
I agree with Sarrcat's merger proposal, it makes more sense to have a complete explanation on one page. I came to Actinism through a link in a reference to Actinic Light in the aquaculture section of Colour Temperature:- Applications. In this situation the Actinic Light stub made very little sense... until I noticed this merger proposal link... and ventured to the Actinism page. 60.240.181.62 (talk) 22:14, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
