IIRC, the intercalary month is in dispute if it is Adar I or Adar II. Ashkenazi tradition puts Adar II as the "real" month as is stated in the article. --Chacham 14:56 9/22/05 (UTC)
I made a mistake. There is dispute over what to do when, but regardless, it seems to be agreed that the extra one is Adar I. --Chacham 19:18 9/26/05 (UTC)
when is leap year?
editFor the non-Jews, while the standard civil calendar deals with leap year issues in the year of the extra day, can we get something explaining why, for example, 1994 had only one Adar, but 1995 had two?--Vidkun (talk) 16:22, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

association with Simcha
editShouldn't there be some reference to the association with Simcha and other positive things? IMHO, at the very least, there should be a mention of the famous quote "MiSheNichnas Adar Marbim BeSimcha". Maybe also a hint to the fact that Adar is considered an auspicious time for the Jews, per Rav Papa in Ta'anit 29.
Finally, it would be nice to see a reference to the statement by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to the effect that, during leap years, when we have 60 days of Adar in which to increase in joy and happiness, that all the negative and unwanted things should be "nullified in sixty" ("Batel BeShishim").
Confusing list of holidays
editI think I understand the list of holidays (anything celebrated in Adar in a non-leap year is celebrated in Adar II in a leap year), but it would be much clearer were it a table of:
Date in leap year | Date in non-leap year | Event |
... | ... | ... |
or something. Could someone who is certain they understand the list of holidays create such a table, perhaps? — OwenBlacker (Talk) 13:26, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
Which events belong on the list - and which don't
