editHere are a few of my suggestions: For “stimulus is adequate enough to signal the brain…”, I would say “stimulus reaches a minimum threshold to signal the brain…” . Otherwise, you are explaining a topic with its own word. Also, adding links for visual, olfaction, etc. to Wikipedia pages under Categorizations of Receptor to help people do additional research on those terms.
