Merge with "Canada" article
edit- Not Supported. It has been suggested that this article be merged with the Canada article. When you see the Canada article, you may realize that it is already long and a bit unwieldy for general readers. The idea then is, rather than merge articles like this one with the Canada article, this article ought to be expanded into as good an article about the administrative divisions of Canada as it can be.
- Also, there is an invisible comment at the top of the Canada page that goes like this...
“ | Notice: This overview article is already too long and should serve only as an introduction for Canada. To keep this overview article concise, please consider adding information instead to one of the many "main" articles about Canada linked from this article, e.g. Politics of Canada, Geography of Canada, etc. See the List of basic Canada topics for the rest of them. Thank you. | ” |
- That "List of basic Canada topics" Redirects to "Outline of Canada", and I have added a link to this article on that page in the following section: Government and politics of Canada. If anyone thinks there are better places for such links back to this article, then by all means correct my edit.
- So in light of all this, the Merge template will be removed from these pages in a few days, unless there is strong opposition to it. Thank you very much for your help to improve Wikipedia!

Merge
editMerge into Provinces and territories of Canada, perhaps? Littledogboy (talk) 23:19, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
- No. Leave Provinces and territories of Canada as is. There is a forthcoming effort to create a List of municipalities in Canada (currently a redirect). Once created, I'd suggest making this a dab pointing to Provinces and territories of Canada and List of municipalities in Canada. If it can't wait, make this a dab and point to Municipal government in Canada in place of the forthcoming list. Hwy43 (talk) 08:38, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
Manitoba Categories?
editWhy is are there a couple of Manitoba categories at the bottoms? They should probably be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackery01 (talk • contribs) 16:13, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
Merge
editAfter 7 years of discussion and no new elemens coming from this, I propose to merge into Provinces and territories of Canada. Double Plus Ungood (talk) 04:53, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- I propose a dab instead to Provinces and territories of Canada and Lists of municipalities in Canada. Hwy43 (talk) 08:20, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Redirected as "Administrative divisions of Canada" has a legal definition in Canada... Constitution Acts,= "Administrative Divisions 8. ( 1 ) Canada , for the purposes of these regulations , is hereby divided into thirteen Administrative Divisions as set out in Schedule “ A ” . ( 2 )." originally was "Canada shall be divided into Four Provinces, named Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. (6)." Municipalities are "Electoral Districts" originally called "Electoral Divisions".--Moxy 🍁 06:07, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
