Hello, my name is Lisa and I work in PR representing TechnologyOne. I'm reaching out to editors with proposed edits to Adrian Di Marco’s page. These edits provide a more accurate outline of Mr Di Marco based on key events and information due to minimal edits being made over the past few years.
In proposing these edits, I have been mindful of guidelines around conflicted content to reflect information of a factual nature only, with third-party referencing for each, primarily in news articles. If you have time to review the suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. --User: ASXTNEADM (talk)

Under the Adrian Di Marco introduction, we propose adding a second sentence as follows: Di Marco previously served as TechnologyOne’s Chief Executive Officer until May 23, 2017, after founding the company in 1987. [1] Under the Career section, we propose the following addition as the final paragraphs: As Chief Innovation Officer, Di Marco leads the company’s R&D and work on its next generation of technology called The Digital Experience Platform (DXP) or C4. [2] [3] In addition, we propose an addition to the final sentence of the following paragraph to read: Di Marco remained as executive chairman [4][5] and acts as their Chief Innovation Officer [6] Under community involvement, we propose an additional line to appear as the final paragraph of the section: Di Marco is also a former director of the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation Board. [7] Under philanthropy, we propose two paragraphs to be included at the end of the section: In 2016, Di Marco established the TechnologyOne Foundation for its philanthropic endeavours. [8] The TechnologyOne Foundation has many partnerships, including with Opportunity International Australia, The School of St Jude, The Fred Hollows Foundation, The Salvation Army and Solar Buddy. [6] Under awards and accolades, we propose a paragraph to be included at the end of the section: Di Marco was recognised in the AFR’s True Leaders of 2017 as one of the most influential people changing Australia. editHello - thank you for your response. I have made edits to the attached which removes references to TechnologyOne which don't specifically relate to Adrian Di Marco. For specific clarity, of the proposed previous additions proposed, these lines have been removed from the now proposed copy:
The company has been consistently profitable since 1992 and boasts the largest Australian-owned commercial R&D centres. [1] TechnologyOne has increased its profits every year since listing in December 1999 and the size of the company has doubled every five years. [2] In 2019, the SaaS platform represents more than 30 per cent of customers for TechnologyOne [3], after its cloud-based Ci Anywhere software was launched by Di Marco in 2014. [4]
TechnologyOne unveiled details of the platform in 2019, with 14 applications to feature in its initial launch. [5]
Di Marco said the new platform will include technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. [6]
Thank you for your consideration of these new edits. Lisa ASXTNEADM (talk) 23:52, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

editGood morning - thank you for your response. I have made the following edits to the copy based on your feedback. 1. Clarified timing regarding Snackwise, to remove 'recent' and use the time of investment as 2019. 2. A specific date for the Practice Ignition investment has been provided. This was in 2017. 3. None of the subject companies via WikiLink have been provided, as no Wikipedia pages exist for these companies.
Thank you again for taking the time to review. ASXTNEADM (talk) 23:42, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

edit- Please note that the numbers below correspond to the request numbers in the collapsed section of the edit request above.
- This claim does not specify the difference between executive chairman (what the lead currently says) and CEO (what the proposal says).
- Ibid.
- This claim is unclear as to what is meant by "leads".
- This claim does not contain dates.
- Per WP:NOBLECAUSE.
- By their very nature, awards can be subjective — in that they represent a very specific point of view — the point of view of the individual or organization which determines who wins the award and why. To counter this, a good practice is to limit the listing of awards to only those which are independently notable in Wikipedia.[a] To include a list of awards here, please ensure that only awards which are independently notable in Wikipedia are listed in the request.[b]
Regards, Spintendo 01:50, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Notes
- ^ An award which is independently notable is recognized by having its own article in Wikipedia.
- ^ The requirement I'm asking for here that the awards be notable is not due to WP:N (which is not a content requirement). My asking for notability here is to ensure WP:NPOV. The adding of several points of view to an article in the form of an awards section may skew the article's balance.[1] Thus, my own practice is to limit the listing of awards to only those which are independently notable in Wikipedia.

1. This edit is now being proposed in the third paragraph of the ‘career section’ as an addition to the final line. 2. Following this, we have removed the repeated reference around Executive Chairman to simply state his other current role at TechnologyOne as its Chief Innovations Officer. 3. Clarified the reference of ‘leads’ to state that Di Marco is responsible for these activities. 4. Clarified to include dates, also updated referencing to confirm date inclusion 5. Request to reconsider decline. The comments made are an extension to the existing materials on the current page. These additions simply seek to add context and update these activities stated. 6. Updated to reference The Australian Financial Review’s Wikipedia page – also noting within the current awards and accolades sections, another award by the AFR to Di Marco is included. Thank you for your time to review and consider. Kind regards --User: ASXTNEADM (talk) The final sentence in the third paragraph of ‘career’, we propose it reads: Di Marco stepped down as TechnologyOne’s Chief Executive Officer on May 23, 2017 [1] but remains as executive chairman [2][3] Following this, we also propose adding: In addition to his role as executive chairman, Di Marco is also TechnologyOne’s Chief Innovation Officer [4] We propose this would then be followed by: As Chief Innovation Officer, Di Marco is responsible for the company’s R&D activities and its next generation of technology called The Digital Experience Platform (DXP) or C4. [5] [6] Under community involvement, we propose an additional line to appear as the final paragraph of the section: Di Marco is also a former director of the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation Board, which he served for eight years from 2004 to 2012 . [7] [8] Under philanthropy, we propose two paragraphs to be included at the end of the section: In 2016, Di Marco established the TechnologyOne Foundation for its philanthropic endeavours. [9] The TechnologyOne Foundation has many partnerships, including with Opportunity International Australia, The School of St Jude, The Fred Hollows Foundation, The Salvation Army and Solar Buddy. editEdit request partially implemented
- The claim regarding chief innovation officer was added.
- The information about the subject's time on the Royal Childrens Hospital Foundation Board was added.
- The claims under philanthropy were not referenced by reliable, independent, WP:SECONDARY sources.
- The claims involving the step-down and remaining as executive chairman are already in the article. Please note that when text is proposed to replace a passage of text already in the article, the replaced text needs to be given in the request verbatim as a request for text to be deleted.

removing COI template
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi! I'm a COI editor for TechnologyOne, a client of GRACosway, which is a sister agency of my employer, Porter Novelli. I'd like to request that {{COI}}
be removed from this article. This flag was placed five years ago by a user who has since been blocked. Since then, the article contents have changed substantially. Additionally, it looks like a discussion was never started here identifying the specific issue with the article, as requested by the template documentation. The article doesn't have any major NPOV issues that are apparent to me (although I am intending to recommend ways to beef up some of the citations in the coming weeks). If there's anything else that needs to be done to justify removing this flag, I am happy to assist. Thanks! Mary Gaulke (talk) 22:10, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- Done I edited the article, removed material I thought was non-notable or promotional, and removed the COI tag as I no longer think it is necessary. Z1720 (talk) 03:58, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
COI edit requests
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hi! I'm a COI editor for TechnologyOne, a client of GRACosway, which is a sister agency of my employer, Porter Novelli. I have some edit requests for this article. (I've also created a mockup of what the article would look like with all the additions highlighted.) I think this will also help address some of the concerns of the deletion discussion.
Early life and education
editDone Add new article section. Proposed text:
- Di Marco was born in Brisbane in 1958, the child of Italian immigrants.[1] He attended St James College in Brisbane.[2]
- He became interested in IT after helping his brother, who was studying engineering at university, to program one of the first digital computers. After high school, Di Marco completed a science degree at the University of Queensland,[3] majoring in computer science.[1] Early in his career, he worked at Arthur Andersen (now Accenture).[1]
Career
editI think it makes sense to make this a new section, with "TechnologyOne CEO" and "Post-CEO" as subsections.
TechnologyOne CEO
edit- Add after first paragraph:
- The company began providing financial software,[4] building its products around relational databases.[5] It has since developed enterprise resource planning software[6] for sectors including local government, universities,[1][7] and hospitals.[8]
- Add to end of last paragraph:
- Add to end of section:
- As CEO, Di Marco established the philanthropic TechnologyOne Foundation,[11] which has made donations to Opportunity International Australia,[12] the School of St Jude in Tanzania, The Fred Hollows Foundation, and others.[13] He also advocated for and adopted a "leadership" model for running a business,[2] as opposed to a "management" model run by professional managers, which he tried during a period of rapid expansion and led to difficulties including missed deadlines and loss of talent.[9] He has argued that a focus on corporate governance weakens companies and that having a board that understands business and innovation is more important than having independent directors.[9][14]
Post-CEO
editDone Add to end of section:
- Di Marco is a founding member of Software Queensland, a group promoting the Queensland software industry.[15][16] In February 2022, he announced he would be stepping down as TechnologyOne's executive chairman after 35 years with the company,[17] with his resignation effective on 30 June.[18]

could do with some editing to be less business-speak-y, and clearer - I don't know which model led to difficulties, for example. Kingsif (talk) 20:58, 21 April 2022 (UTC)- @Kingsif: Roger that – how about
He also advocated against a business model run by professional managers, which caused the company difficulties in the early 2000s. He has argued that a focus on corporate governance weakens companies and that subject matter experts are more important than independent directors to have on a board.
Thank you! Mary Gaulke (talk) 21:19, 21 April 2022 (UTC)- @MaryGaulke: I think "to have on a board" (a board or on board?) should come directly after "more important" at the end there, but otherwise it all looks good to me. Kingsif (talk) 21:33, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- I do not object to these suggestions and do not plan to edit this page again. Go4thProsper (talk) 21:03, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: That works for me! Can I do anything else to facilitate implementation? Also happy to implement myself if you prefer I do so. Thank you. Mary Gaulke (talk) 20:14, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- @MaryGaulke: Been a few days, so if you have the whole proposed text now, I'll read it over again. I can edit and point to this discussion, might be safer. Kingsif (talk) 23:44, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: Sure thing. These are the remaining items, all under "TechnologyOne CEO":
- Add after first paragraph:
- The company began providing financial software,[4] building its products around relational databases.[5] It has since developed enterprise resource planning software[19] for sectors including local government, universities,[1][20] and hospitals.[21]
