Expanding Article
editAttempting to help expand this article. It can get rather convoluted because as the article explains, ANS was a non-profit that created a for-profit entity. This for-profit entity was later sold off to AOL as ANS Communications, Inc. and that entity was later sold off to WorldCom. Both ANS entities share and claim the same history up to their split in 1995. Currently gathering citations to create a separate article for the commercial entity but unsure yet how to cover the shared history with this organization. Most likely best to keep all of the pre-split history in this article and have the new article only have a history summary note and then deal with after the 1995 split and beyond. This is challenging, form an article quality perspective, as things went fast during this period of the Internet's history and the split commercial entity was absorbed by one of the mega-players not too long after it split from the non-profit entity. --Stainless Steel Rat (talk) 15:21, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
