Feeding Habits
editOn Aug. 19th, 2012, the article wash changed to indicate that Aedes feeds during the daytime. The sources I've seen (like the CDC) indicate it feeds between Dusk and Dawn (http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/lymphaticfilariasis/prevent.html). Here is the link to the revision where the change was made: [[1]] Was that vandalism? Or, is there a source for this daytime feeding statement? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.68.190.45 (talk) 18:03, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Before retiring in 2012, I was a member of the entomology faculty at the University of Florida, active in the development of electronic information. One site I developed was Featured Creatures. In 2004, we added an article on Aedes albopictus, the Asian tiger mosquito. Please see: (http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/aquatic/asian_tiger.htm). In the third paragraph of the Introduction, it states, "It is a daytime feeder and can be found in shady areas where it rests in shrubs near the ground (Koehler and Castner 1997). Aedes albopictus feeding peaks in the early morning and late afternoon..." This article underwent two reviews since 2004. I didn't do the research, but it appears this species of Aedes is a day biter. Thomas R. Fasulo (talk) 22:38, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
I just checked the Wikipedia article on Aedes albopictus. Under "Diet and Host Location," it states "The Asian tiger mosquito particularly bites in forests during the day..." Thomas R. Fasulo (talk) 22:43, 22 December 2018 (UTC)
