Cenel Maine
editAedh Buide appears in the Cenel Maine pedigree and hence not actual Ui Maine.
Dobbs: "In 603 there is mention of Aedh Buidhe of Tethba, prince of Cinel Maine. His name occurs in connection with the death of Aedh Sláine of Bregh. This latter was at Loch Semhdidhe with Aedh of Tethba, and Aedh, prince of Offaly. They were all killed on the same day by a bitter enemy of Aedh Slaine. Two of them were slain at Faithche MeccNaen, “the lawn of Naen’s descendants,” on the shore of the lake. Aedh of Tethba fled, but was overtaken and killed at Bruiden Dá Choca.81 The “Lawn” was probably on the south end of the lake where a fort and souterrain exist, though the existence of mediaeval fortifications here makes identification doubtful. There was also a residence on an island in the lake which is mentioned later in 1033 and 1131. Aedh Buidhe may be the grandson of Bracan given in a pedigree in the Book of Ballymote.82"
