Image in infobox

edit

Was consent received from the artist to put the image here? If not it's not allowed to be used. Chokoladesu (talk) 09:52, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

If, not when.

edit

"ASEV" is only at the proposal stage right now and the budget for them has not been approved. No ships have been ordered yet. They have not been "authorized" per the table in the article. The whole article seems oblivious to this and is filled to the brim with too much irrelevant information that is not actually about ASEV itself. The fact is that this project is a big if, not when, and at this stage it should not warrant its own article; at least not an article of this size. Not even the Japanese wiki has an article on ASEV. The image in the infobox absolutely does not belong here -ignoring the issue of whether permission was given for its use- it is an entirely fictional fan speculation as there have been nothing from the MoD on the looks of this thing. And it is likely not accurate as its appearance is based on the 2900 ton Mogami class frigate and not the much larger San Antonio derived vessel or barge that is more commonly used to visualize this proposal.

Given the Japanese Ministry of Defense issued its 2023 budget and program guidance on 23 December 2022, much of the comments above have been addressed sufficiently, with ASEV having an operational date of no later than 2028 and an operation concept for BMD off the Korean peninsula in the Sea of Japan. Certainly, there is as much if not more information for this subject as other comparable "proposed" warship designs.Marcd30319 (talk) 15:11, 6 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
