Lloyd's Register

edit

This article breaches the Wikipedia policy on copying and pasting from other websites. Reference 1 is not how information is presented in Lloyd's Register - the reference has been copied from the Through Mighty Seas website, who did the original research and summarised the Lloyd's Register information in this way. it is sufficient for the Wikipedia entry to reference the Through Mighty Seas website, and not necessary to copy and paste information from that site to Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.253.80.100 (talk) 23:47, 22 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copies of pages from Lloyd's with the entry for Dunboyne from 1889-1900 inclusive can be found at the ship search page of the Mystic Seaport website. Kablammo (talk) 17:07, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:GD Kennedy SLV AllanGreen.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on June 6, 2013. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2013-06-06. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:29, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

The G.D. Kennedy, a full-rigged steel ship, under sail. Constructed in Britain in 1888 and christened Dunboyne, the ship travelled around the world. In 1923 it was purchased by the Swedish Navy and renamed af Chapman, serving until 1934. The ship is now a youth hostel.Photo: Allan C. Green collection of glass negatives, State Library of Victoria
