Whether this should be list of, is something that can be handled editorially. This is an index of some of these resorts. I'll see if I can expand the intro somewhat, but that's a project for mainspace. Star Mississippi 23:49, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

While this might not work as an RS, could be useful for identifying further sourcing in the research Star Mississippi 23:57, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Scope

Various inns and hotels have been added from a Vacation Guide published in Ebony. Most do not appear to me to be notable or to have been resorts, and it's unclear from the source whether they were segregated. Various hotels and resorts are or were owned by African Americans or open to African American clients, but I believe the scope of this entry is resorts that were segregated as opposed to resorts open to or owned by people of color. The earlier edits (before Ebony) had included both cities and actual standalone resorts. It was unclear from the lede the scope of this article, I am sorry if I made a mistake. These additions were all considered resorts per the Ebony citation, and it was during a time of segregation still (1963 was the last year of the civil rights movement). How would you like to see this article? PigeonChickenFish (talk) 21:53, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
One interesting observation is that many of the standalone resorts were in the same cities/areas, with no mention of this happening in the Wikipedia articles of those cities. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 21:55, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
