Book: A History of Overseas Chinese in Africa to 1911 by Li Anshan
editThis seems like an interesting read. In reading the summary and browsing through the pages at Google/books, it seems to cover the global colonial system that dispersed Chinese laborers to the Caribbean, Latin America, the U.S. and parts of Africa like the Gold Coast and Senegal. The book might lead to some evidence of Afro-Asian births and/or populations emerging during those time as some of the laborers, or indentured servants, did not return to China. I've long bee curious of direct Asian ancestry existing among West Africans stemming from the colonial and Sino-African trade eras. This seems like it may be a good read and reference for anyone wanting to contribute to the article. Bab-a-lot (talk) 01:14, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
About prehistoric people in China
editIt is crazy to assume that afro-asian intermarriage took place without any genetic or anthropology evidence. Using only speculations and theories could attract many strong criticism and manipulation by pan-nationalists on Wikipedia. You can't just edit an theory on Wikipedia like that when you lack all the evidence above.
- There is no DNA evidence or anthropology to support this
- There is no such identified people or population that exist anywhere today
- No evidence negroid skeleton only homo-sapiens peking men
FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION OF SHANG
http://www.shakuhachi.com/K-9KChineseFlutes-Nature.html
" A careful study of the bones of 400 individuals removed from more than 300 graves indicates that the Jiahu ethnic group may be identified with the North Asian Mongolian group, and also with the Xiawanggang and Miaodigou groups in Henan Province and the Dawenkou, Yedian and Xixiahou groups that were later found in Shandong Province. The range of male heights was from 170 to 180 cm. In the late Palaeolithic Zhoukoudian Cave,`unspecialized' Mongoloids were described6. By the Yangshao period (3000 BC± 5000 BC)7, the skull measurements are `physically Chinese' and `modern'6. The physical similarity of the Jiahu people to the later Dawenkou (2600 BC±4300 BC) indicates that the Dawenkou might have descended from the Jiahu, following a slow migration along the middle and lower reaches of the Huai river and the Hanshui valley. "
http://donlehmanjr.com/China/china%20chapters/china%20book2/china23.htm China 23: The Shang, Invaders or Indigenous Racial & Cultural continuity, from Yangshao to the Shang.
" Racially the Shang were Mongoloids, like the preceding Yangshao and Longshan cultures. The Shang bones are indistinguishable from the Longshan. The Shang were not invaders from the Middle East. In addition to racial similarities, the Shang also shared cultural similarities with the Yangshao and Longshan cultures. "

chinese men but not women

The Term Afro-Asian - not strictly a term for modern populations
editI'd like to propose a discussion about the term Afro-Asian including peoples of genetic Afro-asian lineage who evolved outside of inter-race marriage. The article could clarify the difference between the two types of Afro-Asian peoples with an introduction section going into detail about the differences (in identity, etc) between ancient and modern, just as it describes differences based on geographic origin. Those differences could also be clarified in the introduction summary of the article.
Also, I'm re-adding the info about ancient Afro-Asian (non mixed race) populations until this has been discussed and explored further. My intention was NEVER to suggest that such peoples are mixed race, or products of racial or cultural fusion, but more of the genetic implications of being both African and Asian and the RANGE OF DIVERSITY of Afro-Asian peoples, of which they do qualify. Katanga Afro-Japanese: removed sentence concerning the postwar Constitution of Japan
editThis sentence is sourced, the video media news interview from a major news network was cited. Let's discuss. Bab-a-lot (talk) 08:37, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
The entire page is poorly written and looks like it has a PRO black POV. notice that the Japanese blasian paragraph omits the fact that some Japanese women was ALSO raped by US occupation forces in the turmoil of post war Japan. If you want to make a legitimate wiki article dont sugarcoat it omitting unsavory facts ..
I also removed the line "Other women raised their child more rural or remote areas as blasian children were sought after and murdered in the city by Japanese officials." ANY evidence of this extraordinary claim ? The video SHOWS UNVERIFIED CLAIMS by residents and hearsay. so wikipedia allows gossip from random videos to be used as fact??? please provide legitimate verified sources to match your extreme claims.
Debunkpropaganda (talk) 03:19, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- What constitutes verifed claims if not from the numerous victims and offspring, themselves? Are you saying that the survivors of this era have organized under false pretense?
- And France 24 International News, the source of this information, is not a gossip site, but a fully reputable news corporation in France. The ENTIRE passage is sourced, as is. Bab-a-lot (talk) 15:27, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Bizarre claim
editUnder the heading "Japan", is the following statement... "In recent history, the hike in the African-Japanese population has been linked to the American occupation of Japan following the end of World War II, where African-Japanese children were born through either prostitution, or legally binding marriage. "
That seems to be a very strange assertion. Is any person that has a child, while not legally married, "a prostitute" ?Lathamibird (talk) 07:42, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

"Scientifically Proper?"
editI have an issue with the line in the opening: "therefore Afro-Asian is a more scientifically proper term to describe Black Asians with direct African background or ancestry."
There is no citation as to where that is stated. I think that is highly subjective and simply more opinion than truth. I am going to remove it until someone backs it up. WHile the preceding part may be true, the second statement isn't.

This article is full of misinformation from Chinese nationalists.
editMost of the unions are between black men and Chinese women, but Chinese people who are dissatisfied with this continue to post false information on Wikipedia. For example, he completely hides the huge number of black men and Chinese women couples in Guangzhou and pollutes them with miscellaneous articles. This article itself needs to be rewritten and rewritten.39.123.6.27 (talk) 14:42, 17 October 2024 (UTC) https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14649373.2023.2209425#d1e399
