Other After Darks
editThis information might be useful but this article is about the Berkeley Systems' After Dark screen savers. The gay publication and drag group probably deserve their own After Dark pages, with an After Dark disambiguation page.
Also, don't forget to cite your sources. A sourced article will never be mistaken for vandalism.
Lunatic Fringe
editLunatic Fringe is not in After Dark Games. I'm going to remove it from the article. And the picture.
- Well, I've definitely played Lunatic Fringe. How else would I have gotten that screenshot? I believe it came with the pack "More After Dark" for the Mac, so it was treated as a screensaver, but it IS fully playable. ~ Oni Lukos ct 21:19, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- Whoops, I had just read that part out of context. I see now that it does mention that Lunatic Fringe was fully playable...however, the image should still probably be placed somewhere. Hmm...I bet I could get a picture of the Flying Toasters... ~ Oni Lukos ct 21:23, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm about to post a pic of a toaster. It's okay.
Ya, but it's a NON flying toaster. Fatandlazy11 17:03, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
It IS marked as a flightless toaster, though.--GreatCthulhu 22:20, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
What use is a picture of a flightless toaster to this page? I suggest removing it, but I care very little, so it's there to stay until someone else agrees. I should log in. 69.59.108.79 17:30, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I've removed it. It contributes NOTHING to the article. brabblebrex 02:09, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
More on the history of AfterDark
editTommy Thomas has done some interviews with the folks behind AfterDark (both the original Mac version and the Windows version) and posted them here. They might be of use if somone wanted to improve the history section of this article. --BenFranske 05:54, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:JeffersonAirplane-30SecondsOverWinterland(album-cover).jpg
editImage:JeffersonAirplane-30SecondsOverWinterland(album-cover).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
NPOV?
editIn fact, it was the last time Berkeley ever touched the series. In 1997, the owners sold out to the Sierra On-Line division of CUC International. Joan Blades and Wes Boyd, creators of the Flying Toaster, went on to create MoveOn.org.[2]
I feel that labelling this as selling out is clearly POV. Does anyone have suggestions on how to best re-word this? Dazcha (talk) 00:13, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
might be a bit old, but how about "Was acquired by the ..." 24.73.210.106 (talk) 14:02, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Is it safe?
editRegarding After Dark 5.0 links, has anyone confirmed that this is not actually a virus or malware? I'm curious since the last few edits about it all came from the same IP address only a few days ago. Maybe these edits should be undone until it's been confirmed this new version is legitimate.
