Display of stress accents in Cyrillic
editI have noticed since the last Wp software upgrade that the "floating" stress indications in, for example, автон́омный ́округ appear to display correctly only if placed before, and not after, the vowel concerned. However, this does not work for e.g. Аѓинский-Бур́ятский, where the accute attaches itself to the г. (My usual browser is Firefox, but the same thing seems to happen in IE.) Was wondering if anyone had a technical fix for this... -- Picapica 21:19, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
- This is a known issue with the Verdana font, used by some of WP's skins. You may either select a different font for accents to show up correctly, or just switch the skin you use. I have to revert your changes to Aga Buryatia, because the accents were right before; now they are not. Let me know if you have questions; I'll try to dig up some discussion threads about this issue for you.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 21:50, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
